The Grounds of the current Waushara Country Club were originally part of the Camp Waushara resort in the mid 1920’s. in 1932 the old Front nine was officially established as the Silver lake Golf Club. The Course was only nine holes and featured sand greens.

Silver lake Golf Course was in operation until 1940 when a number of factors due to the Second World War, Silver lake Golf Course ceased operations and the property was dormant until 1948. At that time it was remodeled into a baseball diamond and was the home park of the Wautoma City team during that time.

In 1952 the Waushara Country Club was officially formed and purchased the property of the old front nine. 15 original stockholders were established and thanks to some volunteer effort, the Waushara Country Club officially opened its 9-Hole course in 1954.

In 1962 an additional 69 acres was purchased for the construction of the back 9 of the golf course. Construction of both the back 9 and a new clubhouse was completed in 1978. The previous clubhouse was in operation from 1960 until it was sold in 1974 and is now the home of Klingler’s Real BBQ.

in 1992 an additional 80 acres was purchased to expand the club into a 27-Hole golf course. In October of 1992 the reconstruction of the back 9 and the newly acquired property had begun. The resulting changes were completed on August 15th, 1994. The Current Course layout was officially opened for play and has been in operation to this day.
